32 Years of Involvement and
Commitment
Having moved to Beverly Hills in 1977 and graduated BHHS in
1979, I am proud to have enjoyed 32 years of involvement in our community
and commitment to our local public schools. Throughout that time I have been
a resident of Beverly Hills, except for a brief period when my husband and I
were building equity to move back into this community.
In order
for my eldest child, who is now 23 years old, to meet all legal requirements
to attend Beverly Hills Schools, my children and I moved back in with my
mother on Crescent Drive until we could afford our own place in Beverly
Hills soon thereafter. Yar and I are not wealthy yet our lives have been
centered around providing our children with the finest Beverly Hills
education possible while meeting all requirements for attendance.
Let me be clear: at all times my children
have attended Beverly Hills Schools as residents of our City.
My family
and I are longtime Beverly Hills residents who, like many of our neighbors,
have proudly served our community and our schools. Having devoted a huge
part my life to the schools and our city for almost two decades as a parent
leader and School Board President is one of the most proud examples of
commitment, compassion and community service I could instill in my
children.
I will not be deterred by some who – out
of political expediency -- seek to damage the reputation and dedication of
Yar and myself to our Schools and Community and to denigrate the sacrifices
we and many others in Beverly Hills have made to live here.
